Holy shit... all that writeup about a fucking change of venue.

I bet Apple PR wrote most of that.

You misspelled "drinking heavily" again, Gruber.

So... If, you know, you're a developer, and you want to attend the conference, then you'll still not be able to book until you're notified that you've won the lottery, by which time all the cheap flight tickets and hotel rooms will be gone. Why can' they bring the lottery forward two months or so?

Still - it sounds like this will save Apple money.

John Rodham Gruber:
>For those more concerned with the social scene

Those "more concerned with the social scene" would be better served if they spent their time actually developing software.

San Jose downtown is not bad. It's not major urban city, but there is plenty to do.

Just take a look at Craiglist and you'll see there are plenty of escort services there.

The San Jose art museum is surprisingly good. It's surprising that they have one, actually.

he told me.

he. told. me.

Gosh Gruber is important!! I didn't know why he bothered writing this piece until I got to that last line there.

Hint:
Oh, and also, SF's about to break ground on an extensive remodel of the Moscone Center…so, there's that…

What about buying a ticket(s) with the option to cancel later on?

Flexible tickets (option to cancel) are $$$, you might as well book after you've won the lottery to be honest. No savings at all really.

Here is why it sucks

1. For people who want to go to WWDC so they can be in a hip place like San Francisco. The center of the tech world. No more of that.

2. Local people who live in the valley or San Francisco can easily go to a world class tech conference. No more of that. It's close enough that your work will want you to take 1.5 hour Caltrains for the week.

Either way it doesn't matter. Gruber missed this but it's not the heart and soul of the Mac community. Every year it's 50% never-attended noobies. It's less worth seeing than ever.

Number 1

Read your own blog you claimchowder cuck bitch

Number 2

Apple is going to move all keynotes to Cupertino when they finally finish the Apple Palace, Shrine, Church, Spaceshi.

Whats the hold-up? Why the delay? Why the cost over-runs? Oh just a year delay on pissing on about door handles and thresholds.

Last time I checked Apple was able to make great products all of these years with door handles and thresholds of an average campus building.

For fucks sake. Gruber is such a fucking bell end.

SF isn't the "center of the tech world," it's the center of hipster douchenozzelry and overall tech toolism. More meaningful tech happens away from that shithole.
