Trump has moved to calling it the Southern White House now that winter is over and he'll be spending as much time as possible there.

And why wouldn't he? When he's not there he losing profit from excessively high fees from the requisite gov't employees and all the bills being paid by actual taxpayers.

The same goes for Trump Tower. Melania in NY is just another way to use the presidency to capitalize on his failing properties.

Then you have his kids saving millions. All you idiots that voted for Trump only voted for Trump to find a way to steal more money from the people. Good job.

Gruber the booger:
>No news organization, let alone one as prestigious in stature and as fastidious about style and usage as The New York Times

Woahhhhh, ya lost me there John.

Gruber spews his fake outrage about the dumbest shit.

Trump did make good on not taking a salary and donated his first quarter pay to the National Park Service.

Nice of Gruber and the rest of the media to notice.

I see this as Trump using his own property as originally intended:

>built from 1924 to 1927 by heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post. Post envisioned the house as a future winter retreat for American presidents and foreign dignitaries, and following her death in 1973, it was bequeathed to the nation. However, successive presidents declined to use the mansion, which was returned to Post's estate in 1980 and in 1985 was purchased by Donald Trump

wow, a whole $78k he donated for the first quarter. meanwhile, it costs $10M/weekend to go to maralago, on which he still makes money.

@Gruber the booger...

Yeah, he charges the taxpayers from his corporations every timer he goes to his resorts. Just like he charged his campaign above rate to use his plane and hotels. Trump entered this presidency to make money, and he is...

Not taking a salary? Well why would he. Idiots like you see him giving up < 400k for a year, while at the same time ignore him RAPING the country for MILLIONS by funneling money to his otherwise failing businesses... Looks like he got you there....

Oh, and on that national parks donation? I don't think the 78k can make up for the 1.5 BILLION he cut from the national park service with his latest budget proposal...

...and while that may have been Marjorie's intent, he could fulfill that intent by donating the estate, as she did, to the country. But no, he OWNS it, and has since becoming president raised the membership fee and makes money every time something happens there (or he goes there - that gets billed to them gov't), including something that involves him. So NO, her INTENT was for it to be OWNED by the gov't and therefore used for free by presidents, not to be used for a fee by presidents...

Oh, and turd eating anonymous (the one who wants Gruber to eat shit, not the one calling out the other lame ass out - although all fucking anons should pick a handle of some kind and stick to that shit)?

First, you're a fucking coward. Can't even come up with a name to fucking use more than once on this fucking dfwc page. Your balls must be shriveled up next to your fat whining gut and smaller than DJT penis....

Go try and boycott. Most of the businesses in the US are starting to wake up to the farce that is Trump, and I'm sure getting an off the handle email from you will really get them to drop Gruber. Ha....

Yeah, I am SURE SquareSpace, since they are such right wing mongers, give a fucking flying fucking shit of an ass what you, fucking turd, think of them. Go fuck off and die....

The NYT have turned into most prestigious hack churning publication, nothing more. If they want to lend so-called credence to the so-called building in the article, so be it.

They are hacks and can do what they want.

The funny thing about Gruber's new politico-bend is that, while it annoys people that used to read this blog for quick links to interesting articles and sometimes good insight, it returns people like me to the comment section for fun.

Just imagine, Trump is shitting in the same toilet as Lincoln, FDR, Truman, Clinton, and Obama did.

What?

>No one profits financially when a state visit is held at the White House.

Can Gruber truly be this stupid or is he just being deliberately obtuse? The White House contracts things out to third-party vendors all the time. So, yes, that means someone does profit financially when a state visit is held there. This is common sense.

When I read Jon say this:

There is only one White House. It is in Washington D.C., and it is owned by the U.S. federal government. It is sometimes and rightly called “The People’s House”, because we the people own it, and we vote to elect the president who lives and works in it.

I chuckled.

Because it is not true.

NGOs run our entire lives.

NGOs rig elections.

NGOs are the true power.

They elect their puppet to act as our leader.

Look into the Royal Institute of International Affairs - that is the real parallel government. And it resides in jolly ol' England.

I heard it costs over $1m dollars in security costs for each excursion to Mar-a la go.

If that is the case that is absolutely outrageous.
How can you cut the budget so heavily and then every weekend spend tax payers money so you can conduct business somewhere you dont need to?

And then there is the money used to police trump towers (I believe his wife and son still live there).

I dont get America. You get outraged about the wrong things out there.. It's just odd.

Trump will be the second president behind John F. Kennedy to write his first speech as president on the exclusive island and he’ll be the fourth to make a South Florida residence a second White House, according to James C. Clark, a University of Central Florida history professor and author of the book “Presidents in Florida.”

it's closer to $3M/weekend, and $150k/day for trump tower security.

many people are upset about it, but there's literally nothing citizens can do aside from bitch to their representatives. they shouldn't have to complain, because congress should be on top of this. the problem is that the republicans are so happy to be in power that they're turning a blind eye just because they want to get their shit pushed through. it's all going to end in tears.

maybe the costs would be lower if the dumbass would stay at the white house instead of playing golf, like he said he would. also, if his wife was at the white house, instead of in new york. he's already matched obama's travel expese for the first two years. but i'm sure the fiscally conservative republicans are fine with that.
