I never understood the love for NetNewsWire. With a modified data structure and just a couple features from Usenet readers it could could have been a great product that transformed the management and usability of RSS feeds. Instead, it was just another shitty feed reader and another reason RSS never took off the way it should have.

NNW just works fine - no complaints. But conflating a great program like BBEdit (and presumably solid beta feedback) with his vesper bukkake is ridiculous. Good beta feedback in valuable for all developers but it cannot save a stupid idea. BBEdit, NNW? Not stupid ideas.
