What do people want anyway?

The laptop and PC industry has been basically stagnant for at least 6 years. Who cares about an 8% incremental improvement or a 20% decrease in power?

It's all bullshit. Graphics performance is all that matters anymore.

4 ports with 40GB bandwidth each is a fucking huge deal on a laptop.

Oh, they're backwards compatible with everything, too? Unreal.

Oh, and it's a half-pound lighter?

I'm impressed that Gruber has acknowledged the backlash. I guess it was too loud to ignore?

He's going to acknowledge it now, then walk it back in about three days once the Apple fanboy echo chamber figures out the right spin.

Oh, and it's not compatible with the new iPhone 7?

Oh, and it's not compatible with the new Lightning headphones?

Oh, and it doesn't include the extension cord on the power adapter?

Oh, and it doesn't have MagSafe?

Oh, and the keyboard sucks?

Oh, and the memory is capped at 16 GB?

Oh, and it has a year old chipset?

Oh, and it's a huge price increase over the last model?

Oh, Tim Cook needs to go.

It's a bunch of things. Increase in price, for a paltry improvement in performance. Total abandonment of useful ports. Lost magsafe power port. Touch bar with questionable usefulness. Limited memory (and yes, 16GB is a minimum these days now that OS X is more bloated)

Tim Cook can go fuck himself with a giant dildo (he comes off as a bottom)!

Apple Board, do your fucking job and just fire that incompetent shithead already!

That's because the battery is half as big. Apple actually reduced Watt/hrs of batteries across the board... to make laptops thinner.

Thinner laptops = not much thermal mass = overheating and throttling issues = can't even include a VR-ready GPU and no 32GB or RAM option in 2016/2017.

New MBP is total fucking garbage. And way overpriced garbage at that.

> Oh, and it's not compatible with the new iPhone 7?

It is fully compatible with the iPhone 7.

> Oh, and it's not compatible with the new Lightning headphones?

Do you know even a single person that uses the freebie headphones that came with their phone as headphones for their laptop? I don't think I've ever encountered such a person.

> Oh, and it doesn't include the extension cord on the power adapter?

Oh, good point. Huge deal breaker. There can be no possible work-around for this limitation.

> Oh, and it doesn't have MagSafe?

You know what else doesn't have MagSafe? Your iPhone. And your iPad. And your other devices that don't need to be tethered to a wall, because they have useful battery lives.

> Oh, and the keyboard sucks?

FFS. All of you fucking keyboard divas. If you can't adapt to a new keyboard, I have no idea how you managed to remain a computer user over the years. Apple has used a ton of different keyboard designs over the years, and many of them have been terrible. But you know what? The vast majority of people can quickly adapt.

> Oh, and the memory is capped at 16 GB?

I wish it was configurable to a higher limit.

> Oh, and it has a year old chipset?

What is your suggested alternative?

> Oh, and it's a huge price increase over the last model?

No.

> Oh, Tim Cook needs to go.

M'kay.

I can’t plug my iPhone 7 into it with a cable that came with either machine.

Plenty of people use Apple Earbuds; I see them everywhere.

Yeah, it is a huge deal breaker if a necessary accessory is now missing and a paid extra.

My toaster also doesn’t have MagSafe. So what? MagSafe is fantastic.

The keyboard is a primary input method; it matters.

Should have given us Skylake months ago or waited for Kaby Lake.

Huge price increase.

You fuckers are the same fartknockers who were losing their shit over Apple dropping the removable battery from the MacBook Pro 10 years ago.

Try to relax, take a deep breath, and remind yourselves that you are idiots who don't know what you want and you'll adapt in time.

I'm so sick of Apple changing their power port and hardwiring the fucking cable to the transformer. now they've gone and hardwired the other side of the transformer to the power plug it sounds like.

Apple has gone the Luxe goods brand route. Good thing they appointed Angela Ahrendts the ex-CEO of Burberry. Oh look all the ports are symmetrical and the same like buttons on an overcoat — awesome. And we can slug our decades long customers with US$50-90 bucks for adapters for all their US$10-30 TB2, Ethernet, HDMI, DisplayPort leads.

Go take a huge fucking leap into the lake Apple. 4x TB 3 is cool. $4500 for a laptop with 1 year old chips, 16GB max and a glued in SSD that you want $1K for an upgrade to 1TB for is all bullshit.
