There's so much competition on the USB-C cable and adapter market that it was the only way to maintain an equilibrium on the profits.

Gruber Watch:
"I think Apple wants to counter the notion that moving to all USB-C is a money grab — that they did it to make money selling adapters. $9 for the USB-C to USB-A adapter is the same price as the Lightning to headphone jack adapter."

I think you are spinning a minor PR disaster for Apple, Grubber. If they were genuine the discount would not be for two months only. And the point is that people don't think Apple did USB-C as a money grab, they think the price of a MBP just went up by $500-1000 and they don't give a fuck about making us all run out and buy $200 of dongles just because their fashion police said MBP couldn't have a single USB3—A port or HDMI out. Like four port is the new maximunm number of apple laptoip ports for a pro machine. My 15" 2015 and 17" 2012 MBPs both 8 ports including power, SD and audio out in case of 2015 and ethernet and digital audio in/out in case of 2012 17"

Fuck thinner and lighter MBP and thinner and lighter wallet. You've gone far enough down that path. Get a new head of industrial design and give Jonny and Angela Jean Ahrendts a car to work on and stop fucking the professional mac market with techno-fetishism.

Pro* - "professional" for small values of professional.

Apple tells us it's a pro machine, it's got "Pro" in the name, and Gruber is posting that if it isn't "Pro" enough for you, you're just the wrong kind of professional and you should go somewhere else.

I think Apple has redefined "Pro" as "home users who want to feel important and spend $3000+ on a laptop". That definition seems to fit better with the choices made with the new MBP.
