The most amazing part was the sponsor read for Setapp, where Gruber was saying that he nearly didn't take the sponsorship, because software bundles often have a catch. He was marvelling over this - exclaiming **"There is no catch!"** multiple times.

Yeah, sure there's no catch. Just paying $10 a month for apps you might use once or twice at most.

Sent emails/filled forms for all three sponsors. Told them I will never buy their products because they support alcoholic's blog.

The first 15 minutes are unbearable stories about dogs Gruber has known throughout his life.

Why does he fake laugh after every unfunny thing he says?

"iPad vs. Mac for productivity (and why the iPad isn’t a self-sufficient platform)"

I'm not going to listen to this drivel, but isn't the key factor that you can't make an app for iOS on an iOS device?

The same goes for Android correct?

Developers need real computers to make the limited computers aka tablets and phones useful.

If all you do is run a shit blog for a living then you can probably get by on just an iphone.

"America’s favorite three-star podcast"

Yeah, sure, on a 100 star scale.

Yes, that was one of their points.

>Developers need real computers to make the limited computers aka tablets and phones useful.

But there's no reason why this has to be true. In the early days of the Mac, you needed a Lisa to program it. But then you could program a Mac using a Mac.

>If all you do is run a shit blog for a living then you can probably get by on just an iphone.

Gruber said if he had to get rid of one class of device he would drop the iPad and just use Mac and iPhone. It's hard to disagree with that.

I don't know why people keep thinking that Gruber is one of those "iOS for work" type guys, when he's repeatedly said he prefers using the Mac, and says he can't live in iOS like Federico Viticci and other iOS proponents.

That's not a guest, that's the host.

Q*Bert:
I love iPads for what they are, but using them as a main computer is a no-go for me because I can't type for shit on a piece of glass. I've gotten slightly better at it over the years and it's fine for small stuff like entering web searches, but it remains frustrating and slow. And unfortunately programming is pretty much all typing, as well as other things like copy-paste that are also awkward in iOS.
