World wouldn't miss a beat if no new (Roman alphabet) typefaces were ever invented again.

Can barely read anything they wrote on that. Handwriting is even worse than mine.

Shake it around:
Is it designed for text, display, screen?

If it's a display font, it's actually quite hard to read. There are eye tracking problems with all the letters, and they shimmer on-screen. There's probably a technical term for that.

Looking at the font as a whole, what is it trying to convey? To me, it looks like an attempt at making a chubby version of the old MICR/OCR-A fonts, or an updated 60s futuristic font.

The fonts are too tight for a display face; from any distance they'll blend together into a text blob. It's like using one of the old German blackletter fonts for signage.

The rounded corners in the typeface could really use with being rounded-off more — 'squircled' if you will.

It's impossible to even imagine a more ill-suited way to communicate this sort of thing than Twitter. Jesus Christ. WTF do people use that fucking cesspool of horrendousness?

Hoefler wasn't the type designer. All their good stuff was designed by Frere-Jones.
