More Navy Seals get rubbed out the better. Sucks for them, but a net gain for the rest of humanity.

I think you should keep this up. Keep repeating kakistocracy.

Let the word become inseparable in the public consciousness from leftist lips

Hard to give the nod to which set of comments were the most appalling, but I'm gonna hafta throw this one to DeVos -- Trump blaming others for his failures is completely Trump-like, and pissing off veterans and the military brass is to him what "brushing your teeth" is to the rest of us.

Blaming Jews for attacks on their own cemeteries, and Obama for the protests, again just part and parcel of the narcissist mind. Nothing is ever the fault -- even in part -- of anything one has oneself done. DeVos is new and we didn't know for sure that we could count on her to be so reliably awful. It's almost impressive how fast and often she's deep-throated her foot.

The problem is there have been so many fake anti-Semitic events since the election, that you can't just rule it out: The Jewish Northwestern students, for example: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-northwestern-students-indicted-hate-crimes-spraypaint-church-met-0504-20160504-story.html

The demand for hate crimes outweighs supply.

These stories are all from ONE Day (21 December):

Anti-Trumpers desperately want there to be massive waves of hate crimes. In there absence, they have to be a little bit 'creative'.

Patrick Henry, the 2nd:
DeVos is right. Despite being forced to be separate, blacks actually made awesome schools. Nothing racist about admitting a fact.

I don't get this obsession with public ed. Its failed. Our students are doing worse. We've greatly increased money to public ed (more than the increase of students), and they are doing worse.

Its time to do something different. Teachers unions and bureaucracy has destroyed it. Time to go fully public.

Teacher unions are the problem. That's why Texas, North and South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia are such leaders in education. QED.

This thing about public schools not being good is a lie. just marketing. They are good-at least most are. unions are not to blame either. testing is fucked, sure. but my daughter's public school is better than the private ones I went to my entire educational career-for which my parents paid more each ear than a year of college now

Public school quality varies widely from state to state – and, depending on the state, within the state as well.

Here in CA, there are huge disparities. Public schools in wealthier areas augment their budgets with private fundraising.

The real issue is nation-wide, performance lags behind other wealthy nations. Individual states (I'm looking at you Massachusetts) defy this with results that would place them near the top of the international league tables.

But the bigger issue is that funding alone is not the problem. Public school funding have 200% since 1970 – significantly above inflation. Test scores have remained flat.

Most of that extra money is being sucked into bureaucracy and 'special needs.'

There are a litany of other issues too: Teaching is now frequently regarded as a fall-back profession and doesn't attract top talent, teachers unions aside, teachers have become deeply politicized (especially at colleges and universities) which is eroding public support and devaluing degrees, parents now advocate for their children's ego and accolades rather than for their education, etc.

Education isn't just the civil rights issue of our time (as stated in Pres Trump's address), it's a civic and economic crisis.

i'm all for improving public education. but funneling public money to private christian schools that have no oversight is not the way to do it. we don't need the next generation brainwashed with jesus bullshit.

you really don't see the harm in teaching kids that there's an invisible zombie sky wizard that watches them poop? and if they don't do what some moldy old book says, then they'll burn in hell for eternity? and by the way, you have to hate all the same people he does, but who he hates varies from religion to religion and preacher to pastor.

they should teach critical thinking instead of allegiance to magic.

there have been over 100 bomb threats agains jewish community centers since january.

a bunch of jewish cemeteries have been vandalized.

2 indian men in kansas were shot in a bar because some redneck thought they were iranian.

Anon 1: I see the enormous benefit in teaching kids that there's an invisible sky wizard.

Real critical thinking would involve a deeper analysis of the values of social institutions than what you provided.

Progress are threatened by religion because they are religious fundamentalists themselves, all fire and brimstone.

Anon 2: I'm Jewish, and I don't think that was Trump's response at all. These crimes deserve the harshest criticisms. But during the Obama and now Trump years, there have been a number of false flag hate attacks. Remember the McCain support who claimed a roving gang of black Obama supporters carved a B in her face?

Anon 3: Not so much.

Actually, it’s gone from “festering boil on the ass of the internet” to “seeping septic wound” since the “election"
