I dunno if I agree like you do.

Grubers own blog is built on copy and pasting (stealing) others work. Often without commentary or very little commentary.

Gruber is not totally wrong here, but I see this as the pot calling the kettle black.

@Gruber the Booger:

In the Grubester's defense, the nature of his "Linked List" is to encourage you to click through to the quoted article. In contrast, Google includes the answer to your query in the search results so you don't have to click through; you've already got what you came for.

As a consumer of information, I like getting that quick answer. But I can certainly see how a producer of information would be upset. And if that producer can no longer profitably provide that information, then consumers also are negatively impacted.

No easy answer to this one.

Dumb Grub:
I agree with Grub.

But I also agree that he's a massive hypocrite.

Fair point indeed.

Another angel is that Google should also want us to use the internet in general as much as possible. There is a decent chance that clicking through to the website still makes Google money if said site uses Google for ads, etc.

Alex:
would be fair if Google could pay a bit (or at least share ad click profit) with the site that provides the "featured answer".
