In fact, the US government has a secret payout fund called the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program:

I don't disagree, but I actually agree with the Grauniad on the vulnerability here. It's a remote contingency, but it's still there. People expect Whatsapp to be secure and it isn't, in a way that they might reasonably expect for a secure, end-to-end encrypted chat app.

Answer: use Signal, which uses the same protocol but correctly. [Or not](https://blogs.fsfe.org/larma/2017/signal-backdoors/), as the case may be.
