Yes, this is clearly all Trump's fault.

Do you think malware and ransomware would be this much of a problem if not for Bitcoin?

It's great when leaks from one group are accepted and leaks from another rejected as nonsense.

But yeah, of course it is a bad idea to demand back doors.

This is such an absurd stretch. Weaponized code was left on a server by the NSA, allegedly. Do you think they would just copy the encryption key to some random server? Is Gruber just this stupid or is he being intentionally misleading?

Didn't Obama request this?

The version requested last year was a new signed version created for a single device by apple. The only way it could have gotten "into the wild" was if Apple lost control of its signing key - in which case we (or at least those of you who own iPhones) are fucked, anyway.

But Trump! Bad! Bad!

The only reason Trump is part of this story is because of the linked statement by Trump that Apple should build a backdoor. If you're so blinded by your bigotry that you're now saying a backdoor is a good idea because Trump wanted it then you're too far gone.

yeah, because there was no way to transfer money anonymously before bitcoin.

You do it for the U.S. government, Russia and China will want the same concessions. So, whether it's "getting into the wild" or opening a pandora's box, the end result is bad for everyone.

Do you think malware and ransomware would be this much of a problem if not for Microsoft Windows?

Do you think malware and ransomware would be this much of a problem if not for the internet?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the victims have perfectly working computers, and weren't they technically asked a ransom by Microsoft (a license renewal, and all the chain upgrades and updates it would have implied for their whole infrastructure), a ransom that might even have been lower than a 1.5btc per computer ?

To me, it is a matter of a choice between two ransoms. The institutionalised one, and the pirate one.

Notwithstanding the fucked up nature of computer security generally (which I would rant about at length if I weren't tired and could be bothered) and all of the factors that conspire to make it so, I actually very much agree with you. Some of that shit was still running XP and couldn't be upgraded to newer versions, so basically a ransom from MS that ultimately went unpaid and for which the victim is now paying the ultimate price.

Sad.

These dipshit libtards are the biggest morons in the world. Gruber, a lesbian stuck in a man's body, has totally lost his mind.

By implying Gruber is a transgender, you've just paid him the highest possible compliment to a 2017 leftist.
