Amazon isn't good at hardware... yet.

It's easy to see that Bezos has significantly more vision than Cook.

To use one of your most overplayed metaphors, Amazon is skating to where the puck will be.

> the smartphone will remain the dominant device in people’s lives. Something will eventually replace the phone, but smart speakers aren’t it.

The guy didn't say it would replace the iphone, he said that alexa et al would be decade defining.

Grubs can't handle anyone even contemplating something not made by apple as being worthwhile.

Gruber the Booger:
Gruber hates Google. Ads. Tracking.

Yet when you click on an item on Amazon it follows you around placing ads for said item on various websites even if you already purchased said item.

John loves using Amazon.

Of course Daringfireball tracks you with Google analytics.

Put your money where your mouth is.

John Gruber talks out of both sides of his mouth. He has no backbone. No principles. No balls.

I'd bet $1000 he still uses Uber.

Looking forward to the next Gurman or Trump piece that gets ol' Johnny boy worked up.

The amount of love I have for Alexa is the same amount of hate I have for Siri.

the Fire phone showed that Bezos indeed has more vision than Cook.

The Fire phone also showed that Bezos's vision isn't any good.

Can't wait for a US Govt lawsuit against all the other grocers for monopolistic practices!

@Gruber the Booger

What a load of BS - just because Gruber dislikes Uber and Amazon doesn't mean he can't use their services. I dislike fossil fuels but I still drive a car that guzzles them.

Gruber the Booger:
@Grubweiner

That's a bit of a false equivalency.

Uber, Amazon, Google are all easily avoidable.

Avoiding using fossil fuels is far more difficult.

But I understand the point you are trying to make.
