>The HomePod does have a color display under that diffuser, with resolution of 272 × 340.

That's not the same as a "touch screen," you moron.

To be fair, To Be Fair...:
He didn't mention anything other than the resolution of the display in this post. You brought up *touch screen*.

He didn't even mention that it's the same resolution as that 38mm Apple Watch or postulate how it could be the same OLED display.

I don't see any HW buttons atop the HomePod so why wouldn't you expect it to be touch activated? Or do you think Apple is going to go all in with Siri, unlike other products that at least have a call, mute, and volume buttons?

>You brought up touch screen.

No, he brought up the touch screen many times previously.

He was trying to use it as Claim Chowder against Mark Gurman, to say "see it does have a touch screen" when Gurman's report stated that it wouldn't have a touch screen.

This is absolutely Gruber trying to cling to the claim that the waveform display with some touch-sensitive "buttons" on it counts as a touch screen, in his incredibly pathetic battle to be right about this, even though nobody else is classifying this as a screen.

The iPhone 8 will have a 1125x2436 screen.

And the Galaxy S8 already has a 1440x2960 screen.

If there's a screen and a capacitive touch matrix on it then it's a touchscreen no matter how primitive the diffuser cover makes it appear. It's not for watching movies.

Gruber doesn't enjoy getting cucked by Gurman the Boy Wonder so he repeatedly brings up bullshit like this "touchscreen".

But do we know if it has a "capacitive touch matrix" on it, rather than just a single (or a small number of) touch buttons?

The touch buttons aren't necessarily mapped to the screen. It's probably more like the snooze button on an alarm clock.

I'm not sure if the matrix of LEDs under a diffuser even qualifies as a "screen" as we know it in the first place. Are those scrolling LED message displays in shop windows "screens" now?

"capacitive"? capacitative?what do you have against resistive touch matrices? Or resistative, even?

resistive is garbage touch.

grubes:
that's garbagative.

Want to eat a scoop of claim chowder now John? From when the scoops run dry:
