Funny, I like XKCD. But completely the opposite for me. My home wifi is rock solid. I can't remember the last time it went out.

Trying to make and maintain a call inside my place is spotty at best and I've used every carrier.

Never really have this problem at home, but there was a time I would seek out public hotspots to make up for shitty cell coverage. Now I often need to stop my wifi from connecting to public hotspots (Comcast spreading like a virus) so my cell connection can work properly.

Agreed - cellular/mobile data beats public wifi, but at home it's business as usual.

i think gruber means the reliability of the *backhaul* on your wifi (cable, dsl, whatever you got). the wifi itself is super solid. at least mine is.
