Pichai should resign.

This is getting better by the hour.

The real tragedy here is that I am going to run out of popcorn.

Maybe they uh, should not have like, fired the guy? Instead maybe welcome his viewpoint and opinion. Which are founded in both science and reality.

Oh wait that's not how the New Left works. It's either think exactly like us or GET THE FUCK OUT! March lock step motherfucker! How dare you think for yourself! How dare you!

Google is eating a moldy hot steaming shit burger now.

All of their special snowflake employees can't even. I mean like they literally can't even right now.

Way to go fucktards. Gold stars for everybody.

Let's cater to all of the limp dicks and flappy vaginas.

Patrick Henry, the 2nd:
> We had hoped to have a frank, open discussion today as we always do to bring us together and move forward.

Should have thought about that before firing a guy who wanted a frank, open discussion.

Honestly, there was no reason to fear the safety of the googlers. But Pichai is scared of being accused of how terrible he has handled this. Even David Brooks said he should resign.

> Over the past two days, I have had the chance to meet with so many people here, and I have read each of your emails carefully. The vast majority of you are very supportive of our decision.

Of course they are! You fired the guy who opposed you. When talking to the CEO, why would they say anything but in support!?!? In fact, and anonymous poll of Google employees show the majority DOESN'T support your decision.

Culturally appropriated:
The downfall of google has begun. Soon they'll be mediocre, like Microsoft was.

Multi-culturalism or whatever it's called now is a cancer that eats minds from within. It's the perfect virus, designed to mediocritize.

Those with the largest mouths are the ones that do the least. That's especially true in this equity driven age.

Thank god for the DFwC commentariate. It's a relief to read a dose of reality in our little eddy of the internet.

Pichai is making terrible errors, and doubling down into "our employees are in danger from the internet" rhetoric after firing this guy is only making it worse.

Anon: Yes, we understand that the first amendment does not protect Damore from the repercussions his opinions might generate in the private sector.

But this is a dangerous move for a company that claims its mission is to organize the world's information. How can they be trusted with that when they don't favor free expression, diverse views or divergent opinions? Instead, they promote dogma, conformity and political correctness.

Since the manifesto was revealed, every action Google has taken underscored Damore's arguments.

I like what Pichai has done with Google generally – and I don't think think he should be forced to resign – but he needs to be reminded me on the value of free expression and how it relates to Google's core mission. If he's unable to do that, then yes, he should go.

The only way Google cares about the individual is how much data it can mine from him or her. This ain't kumbaya. This is business! And moving forward makes no sense is Alphabet is going in the wrong direction!

Who said anything about the first amendment? You do understand there's a difference between free speech and the first amendment? Google can be *not* in violation of the first amendment whilst simultaneously trampling all over free speech.

They have a diversity policy that flies in the face of all the scientific evidence about women's mechanical reasoning ability— data discoverable by anyone on Google Scholar. The policy asks every employee to not mention this incoherent reality or be fired.

I can imagine this comments section in the 18th century...

That has become a favorite leftist talking point, but in this case it isn't actually true. American workers have very few protections (mostly due to Republican efforts to keep it that way, of course, but since Dems have the same paymasters they don't bend over backwards to resist) but there are a few that are left over from the antideluvian days of the New Deal. One of them is that workers can't be fired for talking to coworkers about their working conditions. Guess what? That's what Damore was doing.

Strawman. Nobody said anything about "lacking mental power to compete."

If men and women are biologically different, then one simply cannot choose the sex of their fancy.

Damore's manifesto slaughters many progressive sacred cows.

It slaughters nothing. The progressive left will dig in, either attacking science, or targeting non-social falsifiable outcomes and re-define 'science' so that the left can still remain the 'pro science' side.

It's only a matter of time.

Gruber the Booger:
It's interesting that Google makes most of their money from targeted advertising.

Targeting men for their interests, targeting women for theirs. Targeting by age group, income, etc.

It's almost as if Google knows there is a distinct difference between men and women. Different demographics exist when it comes to advertising.

But when it comes to hiring, men and women and everybody are 100% the same.

What a load of bullshit.

Google, ya' can't have it both ways.
