Gruber the Booger:
>It really is quite fascinating that Apple is reliant upon Samsung — their arch-rival in the phone business — for anything at all, let alone for the most essential and expensive components in iPhones.

Well eat some chowder Gruber.

You asked for it:

>And I hope the iPhone Pro starts at $1500 or higher.

So which is it Gruber?

Do you want the latest technology and pay for it?

Or do you want to slam the only company available to overcharge you for such technology.

You can't have it both ways.

Pay for it from your worst enemy and admit you want it more expensive or do it yourself.

But don't ask to be overcharged and then claim that the only supplier producing the single most important and expensive component holds a monopoly and is charging too much.

I call bullshit chowder.

>Apple just doesn’t like Samsung.

Nope, only Apple fanboys don't like Samsung. Normal people don't give a shit.

And obviously Apple needs Samsung. Otherwise they would cut their nose to spite their face. Apple is in the business of selling products. Samsung supplies those products.

This article should be titled 'Apple and Samsung Kissing in a Tree' by Gruber's own logic.

toolshed:
Gruber has this idea that Samsung is this monolithic, focused organisation. The only thing any part of it has in common with all the other parts of it is the name. The OLED division couldn't give a flying fuck if selling OLED screens to Apple hurts the mobile phone division. Not one fuck.

Skeptic:
OMG it's like Microsoft relying on Apple to sell copies of Office and Windows to run on Bootcamp!

Has anyone noticed that Apple has a global iPhone monopoly?

knowitall:
I dont know what Gruber's on about here. Apple wouldnt exist if it didnt make deals with "competitors".

Look at Apple's relationship with Microsoft over the years for example.

The fact is Samsung is a divisional based business with each division having there own P/L and CEO. Just like Sony and all the other consumer electronics firms. Its only Apple that is unique that has a single focused division which is now iOS/Iphone and everything that flows around it.

No one else thinks like that. The head of Samsung OLED doesn't care what beef Samsung phones have with Apple. How does that beef help with his bonus?
