Superheroes? As I keep saying, for someone with a $500k annual income, his tastes are fairly lowbrow...

"Largely somewhat agree." Then two uses of "but" in two consecutive clauses. He also used em-dashes in both sentences of this masterpiece.

With so few words written per day, you'd expect Gruber to spend more time refining these restatements of other people's work.

Terrible list. They have _Batman v Superman_ at #50 and _Captain America_ 40 ranks lower at #90? And while I liked _The Dark Knight_, it's way, way overrated. Sorry, it's not the best movie of all time (I've heard people actually say that) and I think even the best superhero movie of all time is highly debatable.

Also, where is _The Incredibles_? Does that not count? That's top 10, easily.

How many movies on this list are the same movie, remade over and over? All of them?

Why are we stuck with these same stories - these 60 and 80 year old "superheroes" anyway?

Kick-Ass is 48? I almost stopped reading right there. That movie deserves top 10 (or top 5) at least.

My god, there are so many things wrong with this list. I enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok, but there's no way it rates as the 9th greatest superhero flick of all time. And Watchmen? That should be in the top 10 and fuck anyone who says differently. And while I get a lot of people don't like Hulk (largely because it was shot and written too much like a comic book), it still deserves more credit than it gets . it sure as shit shouldn't be ranked below Batman Forever and Spider-Man 3 (how in the hell did THAT one rank @ 29??)

And Flash Gordon? Why is that on this list? NOT a superhero movie!!!!

That's the version of the movie done in 1990. An honest but still too-low of a budget attempt for the times.

Ah OK, good catch, I didn't notice it was the old version. Still, I'm not sure how the first of the newer _Captain America_ couldn't even make a list that has _Batman v Superman_ on it. That movie was god-awful, I literally fell asleep halfway through it.

Am I the only one who thought _The Dark Knight_ was a self-important bore?

Enough Already:
Ebert, yes, you are the only one. Dark Knight was an awesome movie and easily earned the #1 spot.

They should have just made this a top-20 list, and they should not have included box office numbers in their formula. That's why big-budget but universally panned movies are here, and why e.g. Kick Ass is ranked so low.

It did. It's #31, which is downright criminal to rank it so low. And yeah, BvS should never be on any list with the word "best" in it.

Interesting criticism coming from someone who thinks that being Roger Ebert's shoeshiner is important enough to shout out to the world.

I thought The Dark Knight was terrible. Could have been fixed with editing, but as it was? Self-important is a good label; I probably would have said "indulgent".
