Gruber the Booger:
It's so simple for average normal people to open terminal and sudo /blah/blah/blah to fix this other new bug.

Yeah, uhh NO. Most people are not going to do that because most people purchased a mac because it just works and have no idea what terminal or sudo are.

But most people probably won't ever know about this file sharing bug or the root login bug.

I do appreciate Gruber's copy and paste coverage of all of this however.

He has a big audience. I give him a thumbs up for that.

I don't know why apple bothers selling computers that run OS X at all - they literally could care less if they work, and one they will stop working completely. It's an enigma why they even try if they are going to give it such a completely half-assed effort.

Our security fix for our inexcusably terrible security bug inadvertently breaks other parts of our OS. That about sums Apple's current software quality up.

and wouldn't we be guffawing like hell if this were Microsoft. Fix this and break that. It would be a comedy of errors.

Really? They COULD care less? Good to know that their level of caring isn't rock-bottom.

So Grubs must have updated not just the post but the title to include (But a fix is already out) because there wasn't a fix when he posted it. I am trying to think of a time he's been any more of an apologist.

PB Newman O's:
If this were Microsoft there would be so much snark about how Windows isn't secure and their patch broke a feature and this is why he uses a Mac blah blah etc.

They're not giving you an iPhone review unit any earlier next year Gruber. You can stop licking Apple's bung any day now...

"Nice"? Gruber might be the only person on earth who could take a look at this clusterfuck and conclude, "Nice."

Mac Pro is Dead:
His conclusion from the other post is:

> So the exploit was floating around, under the radar, for weeks at least, but it seems as though no widespread harm came of it.

LOL

Seriously Gruber? WOW at the Apple apologism. You have NO IDEA what widespread harm came of this because the hacker groups and nation states exploiting the bug would not have posted about it publicly.

Indeed. And we know that's exactly what he meant, because he used the word "literally".
