I wanted this app when Apple TV was okay. Now Fire has eclipsed it, so why does this even matter?

Because not everyone agrees with you.

I still want this app... even though Fire TV has eclipsed Apple TV. The set-top box market agrees.

Really wish Apple would give Apple TV some attention... and a better remote.

Mac Pro Is Dead:
Apple TV is fucking awesome, get with the program boys. The Fire TV stick was terrible and loaded with basically Ads the last time I tried it.

Agreed, Apple TV remote is one of the worst things Apple has ever "designed".

There is a better remote. It's called a "Harmony".

So now I need to spend $150 on an Apple TV plus $30 to $200 on a remote to make it usable?

The 4K Fire TV is $70 with a working remote.

No, you throw away ALL of your remotes and just use one for everything. You don't even need to buy the high end one. I use the cheaper Harmony 650 in my household and it works. Even my techno-illiterate parents know how to use it.
