I used an iPad mini with Clamcase until the case cracked and I dropped the mini. It was amazing: rotating hinge for taking photos at touch-and-try audio events (I'm an audiophile product photographer), and then write brief reports from there.

But always having to touch the screen was less than optimal, especially before a few iOS tweaks that allow for smooth cursor positioning. I'm not a programmer, but I get why some people would like an iOS laptop.

I know very little about Apple in general, but I wonder if they are not thinking about further melding the two OSes- not like Windows does for touchscreen laptops as that is crude, but really experimenting with iOS as a full fledged OS for various professionals.

With Affinity Photo I'm able to 90% replace my iMac for photo editing, whilst leaving the iMac to do all compositing, RAW processing, and culling.

Other Apple pundits claim they already have too many products on offer, that a person walking into an Apple store to browse at the MacBook table already faces too many choices. Adding several models of iOS laptops will increase the likelihood of creating decision paralysis.
