Anyone who believes in free markets and/or the intelligence of an average consumer?
9:09 pm — Friday, 8 December 2017
KT:
So consumers are suppose to be "intelligent" enough to bag fees if they aren't disclosed?
9:11 pm — Friday, 8 December 2017
Adam Smith:
Yeah, F you @anon. KT is right, the free market shouldn't enable deception. These free market a-holes think it solves everything, and the invisible hand is the hand of god. It doesn't work like that dummies. Take an econ class.

It actually works exactly like that.

Buy a ticket from an airline with a fair and transparent price.
9:54 pm — Friday, 8 December 2017
KT:
And when none of them have a "transparent price"?

It would be impossible for Airline A to compete with a stated price of $200 with a transparent price when the other airlines state a price of $135 and don't disclose bag fees. Once one airline hides the fees they all have to,

Would never happen in a competitive market. You'd have Virgin, etc highlighting this in their ads.

These "hidden" fees aren't redacted on your credit card statement.

Why does the left insist on infantilizing adult consumers?

Such a huge burden to airlines and ISPs to show a little extra information on their website, I don't know how they stayed in business at all with these draconian regulations.

MORE RULES WILL SOLVE EVERY PROBLEM

Does Gruber disclose how much profit he makes on his weekly advertising prices? No, then eff off with the sanctimonious BS.

Vanilla Dry Ice:
Trump is a petulant teenager. His only motivation is to do the opposite of what Obama did, because white people still can't stand the fact that we had a black president.

All this shit is coded racism, simple as that.

And the angry white dudes don't use dog whistles anymore, those fuckers are straight up shouting "Niggers!" using vuvuzelas.

If there's one thing Vanilla Dry Ice knows, it's racism.

Grubology 101:
I don't understand the issue... Are baggage fees considered a secret in the USA (i.e., baked into the ticket price and there is no way to deconvolve that fee from the fare price proper)? In my country, baggage fees are well known, and you explicitly pay for them when you check in online... $25 +/- a few euros. I, too, would be upset if they were a secret.

This proposed regulation never actually took effect, and bag prices are not currently a secret.
5:31 am — Saturday, 9 December 2017
Adam Smith:
"Why does the left insist on infantilizing adult consumers"...

First of all, not everything has to be left vs. right. Facts still exist outside of who you want to be president. Second, the average adult consumer does not make perfect utility-maximizing decisions. Remember when I said take an econ class? All regulation is not bad, and pure free markets (with the monopolies they create) are not paradises.

Withdrawing a proposed baggage fee regulation is racism? Are you mentally challenged?

Your Tax Dollars At Work:
It's a proposed rule, so it never went into effect

Are airlines disclosing the bag fees now?

Yes, pretty much.

So what's the issue exactly?
6:41 am — Sunday, 10 December 2017
Johnny Grubstein:
>So what's the issue exactly?

The Hard Left has an incessant need to control everything.
